With the growing amount of (outstanding) partners we’ve worked with in Uptown Waterloo over our past 2 years of running, we’re so stoked to announce the launch of our partnership with Pilot Coffee Roasters for Summer 2026.
Pilot is a Toronto-based speciality coffee roaster with cafes in locations spread throughout downtown, Trinity-Bellwoods, The Pocket, and our home, Uptown Waterloo. We find that as runners, a lot of our routine is rooted in ritual and repetition, the same routes, carb sources, shoes we keep going back to, and friends we call on to accompany us on our long runs. Coffee is no different, it’s a morning-staple for most, and over the last few years, it’s become incredibly interlaced with the sport of running.
What’s involved with the Whynot x Pilot collab?
Long story short, every 4 weekend morning runs you do with Whynot, you get a credit towards a voucher for a free bar drink at Pilot. The weeks don’t have to be consecutive, so there’s no pressure if you miss one or two, your progress will maintain all through the summer.
How do I make sure my progress is being recorded?
With our RSVP platform that houses all our event and run club details, we’ll know how many runs you’ve been to and when you’re due for your voucher, so there’s no physical stamp card or massive spreadsheet to keep track of everyone (thankfully).
You just need to make sure you’re RSVPing (for free) for each run, AND getting checked in at the end of the run to verify you were there. Then once you’ve hit 4 runs, you and the Whynot team will know you’re owed a voucher (feature pending..)
Can I use my voucher at any Pilot cafe?
Our vouchers will only be valid at the Uptown Waterloo location at 114 King St. S.
The team’s workin’ on a potential move to Toronto, so perhaps we’ll see Whynot x Pilot Toronto 2027 (stay tuned).
Does my voucher expire?
Yes, though well after the summertime is over. Whynot x Pilot vouchers will no longer be valid as of November 14th 2026.
